dear friends, I am from Manipur,North East India. People of Manipur have close connection with Chinese(specially with those of Yunnan province),in terms of ethnicity, language, food, culture, belief etc. I have a question regarding our state emblem. Our state emblem is Kangla Sha(An animal with dragon head with lion body). As most of our historical and religious books were burnt down by a hindu king under the instruction of a hindu priest in the 18th century,I find it little bit confused about the...

Sanajaoba Meitei, I think the creature you're speaking of is not necessarily a half "dragon" per se but a half-Naga. In Southeast Asia and the Himalayas, the "dragon" and the "naga" were either considered similar or the same. Look up the Burmese "Chinthe" and you'd notice some have a "dragon head" with a "lion body."

@WangGeon.thanks for your reply.yes,Chinthe and Kangla Sha are very similar except the latter has horn.Chinthe has no horn whereas Kangla Sha has two horns.i dont know dragon and naga are similar.but we think dragon is a god like our dragon god Lord Pakhangba(god of our martial art Thang-Ta),but we think naga is just a snake.but i dont much about it.

It is possible to study history and find work in a totally different field. I personally study history for many years but became a banker. It helps to think of things you do as not being mutually exclusive.

No. One reason this site is about Chinese HISTORY, the other is that too many fights occurred in the past when it was allowed.

This keeps on happening to you. I don't understand why you don't save your work (or the links) in a word program.
