According to actual history, who, in your opinion is the unmatchable warrior of all time? (melee combat ability wise) Please describle in detial why you think so and list some of their famous feats.

(I'm far rather to hear answers from history experts than three kingdoms novel fans.)

My votes go for 项羽 (Xian Yu) and 霍去病 Huo Qu bin. Because according to 司马迁''s "Si Ji" 项羽 able to slay handerd of dozen enemy soilders all by himself. in Ju Luo and Chang pin Campaign, Xian Yu defeated his foe army in impossible odds. 30.000 vs 300.000 and 30.000 vs 600.000.

And 霍去病, he never lost one single Campaign in his lifetime against so called the invincible Cavalry army of Hun, and expended Han empire's territory all the way northward to Hun’s homeland, Gobi desert, Gobi desert.

There're alot myths about Li Yuan Ba and Lu Bu, but none of them sounds believable, their ture combat perfromance in hisotry is still remain unknown to me, so I will pass.

Here I'm talking about warriors, figthers, not strategists. Melee combat skill is the only consideration of your choice, in this thread at least. please be serious.

Well, there's really too many choices in here. Almost too many 3Kingdoms choices too...nothing wrong with that, and you seem to understand alot of that is myth, but its just grown to be a bit of a pet peeve...oh well. I won't vote, because I don't know how we could define that, and I think there are many other worthy choices out there.

I voted to Lu Bu, because he was also a j***, that somehow just makes him stand out to me.

I have closed the poll because I think having only 10 choices is too limiting to cover all of Chinese history. Members can propose their own candidate.

I would vote for Lu Bu as well; there was a battle at Xiaopei, Lu Bu singlehandedly took on Zheng Fei, Guan Zu, and Liu Bei ... and came out not only unscattered but a victor as well! Needless to say, both Zheng Fei & Guan Zu were two of the "tigers" among many generals during their prime! B)

As far melee is concerned, I think the best would have been Chiyou 蚩尤. He is the 戰神 after all.....

a lot of Koreans are infatuated in this Chiyou character. They regard him as Korea's 'god of war'. Chiyou is also known to be modeled by the infamous Korean soccer supporters 'Red Devils'.
