Nickname: Xeenslayer, aka Duan Xuan on many other forums. My real name is not very far from "Duan Xuan". Just call me by my initials (same for both real and net name): DX. =)

From: Singapore, that tiny island sitting at the southern tip of the Malayan Peninsula

Age: 16

Interests: quite a lot actually... astronomy, history, strategy games, HTML, xiangqi, sports and reading.

Other forums: HeavenGames and SMQ (not so much of the latter now, though I do lurk there sometimes)

Background: I was born and grew up in Singapore. I'm currently taking my fourth (last) year at a local secondary school (Dunman High School, to be precise). Taking the Cambridge O Level exams now. We have a pretty stressful life over here, but I guess it's up to you to manage it. I think I'm coping well. :) Anyway, nice to meet everyone here. I hope I can settle down quickly and become part of CHF asap. B)

Hi Gweilo. =)

By the way, the link was to CBH, strictly speaking it doesn't represent much of HG. Here's HG Main, with the Library, OD, history forum and all: http://www.heavengam...ms/Ultimate.cgi

Hiya GZ. :) Yes, I finally started posting after registering so long ago (after you recommended CHF to me on MSN). Seldom see you online these days though. Busy, I expect?

*edit* And Gweilo, do call me DX rather than Xeenslayer. The latter feels kind of weird. Maybe I shouldn't have registered with that name. =S I prefer being called by my real initials rather than some "cool name". B) Yep, please call me DX, everyone. :D

You're not alone. In fact, many of the overseas chinese I know cannot speak chinese, b'cos of the environment they lived in or grew up in, for e.g. many of the chinese-americans, some singaporean-chinese, Thai Chinese, Indonesian chinese, vietnamese chinese, Philippine chinese.. etc.

However, this does not discourage you from wanting to learn chinese language. You can always go to a language school to learn chinese and lived in China for 1-2 years and you will be able to speak perfect chinese.
