My name: Daniel.
My age: 31.
Location: United States, central region.
Interests: Mandarin Chinese, gaming, fiction, history, sea piracy, racquetball, weight lifting, fencing, movies.
Other forums visited: Pirates Message Board.
I am grateful to find this forum, especially in my native language. I am a beginner at Mandarin Chinese (about 500 words in my vocabulary and I can read maybe 130 characters), so I could not possibly conduct an intelligent conversation in it.
My wife is a Chinese citizen, Uyghur in background, and I am trying to learn more about the history of all China. I have visited mainland China three times, spending most of my time in Urumqi, Xinjiang, plus a few weeks in Beijing.

Really? That could be explained as two facts:
1.You are a muslim.
Or
2.You are so handsome that no girls can refuse you.
It is said by my Uigur classmates,
the Uigur girl generally will not marry someone who is not a Uigur.
Even a muslim from another Islamic nationality, such as Kazak,
would be not always allowed to wive a Uigur girl.
However, I don't think what they told me are unchangeable rules,
for I have seen some Uigur girls and boys who had having a BF/GF
with background of Han or other ethical groups.
I can find it unsurely that some Uigurs may be worried about Han peoples
for making them impure in both consanguinity and mind.
It can be understandable but not supported at all time.
After all, as the fact of being own brethren
living in the same country and under the same sky,
everyone should cherish each other.
For who doesn't know cherishing the others,
who will not cherish self.

Short as morning dew and illusion;
几番意气几度浮华,
How much vigor,How many vanities,
不过梦中之梦。
Are only dreams played in a dream.

Nothing is special of the Uigur girls, but they indeed have differences in feature to majority common people living in Centeria.
Since you brother is neither handsome guy nor a musilim, you'll have no chance to make even one of them want you,

Well I'm not a Muslim, so that leaves only one possibility, doesn't it?
No, I jest. I'm not that handsome, and ladies before I met my wife found it easy to refuse me.
All I can say is that the times, they are a-changing. What Uyghur women might not have done a few generations ago, some now do. And my new in-laws have treated me with all the warmth and welcome I could possibly have wished.

I have attended the Pirates: Fact and Legend message board in the past, and I wrote a complete novel about pirates. Alas, no one will publish it yet.

I do too have some stories which i could write into novels but unlike you, I am far from writing it. But none of them is about sea piracy. I wrote a bit when i was bored and posted them below.I have attended the Pirates: Fact and Legend message board in the past, and I wrote a complete novel about pirates. I would guess it is normally hard to get publisher because every book they publish is an investment risk so they are pretty conservative about publishing books. Another way is, paying them to publish your book. But that needs quite a bit of money, provided you have money. (lol
So poor me can only offer this: The author who wrote the acclaimed work "Lord of the fly" waited quite a long time for a publisher to accept his story. He has tried quite a number of publishers and all are rejected. Nonetheless, he preservered and believed in his story. His children and wife actually advised him to give up but he persisted. When his story came out, it became a bestseller and well-received by critics.
Another more practical suggestion would be to join writer's guild in internet or near your city. I would guess publishers would look at these places for new stories/author.
