I'm an old man whit few vices so i/we have a lot left over for buying books and the like. + due to inheritance from our parents my family and me in particulary has a fairly exstensive collection, also due to the tax man in connection whit the death of my dad and my in-laws we got to make archival status on books and comics galore.

Personaly there is fairly few books i would lend out normally but exceptions can be made.

Copyright law. in personal peer to peer copying two rules have to be followed 1) you may not take ANY financial reimbusement for the copies.. 2) You may NOT give the impression that the information/pictures are your own AND you may NOT under any circumstances copy the WHOLE book for any reason what soever, otherwise you can copy and redistribute PARTS of the book to your hearts content as long as the two rules are followed.
This has been tried at the EU high court and in a lesser degree indirectly by WTO so it has precedens.

In short if there is parts of Janes books and the like some of us could use we can quite legally copy part of them as long as the above rules are followed.

By the way my personal collection consist off, (As of january 16 2004)

489 hard cover books. (Mostly fiction but a 100+ non-fiction)

2102 paper back ditto.

3800+ comics/ comic books.

400+ books on RPG's of varius types (activlly collect does)

270 + magazines ( mostly Signal a WW2 nazi propaganda paper covering 1941-44)

I have inheritet some rarities among them, incl a book the was whitdrawn before it was put up for sale for legal reasons.
My oldest book(s) is a bible from 1594,(Written in gothic script). a 212 year old version of Decameron. a diary one off my oldest ancestors made (1754). and a tradesmans ledger (In german) made by a old danish trader based in Lubeck in germany. it is covering a period of 5 years from 1800-1805 and is quite interesting since it is part diary from his travels around the world.
I have 7 Janes books 5 of which is Fighting ships. up to 1990-91. oldest is 1942. (Bought on a library aution for 28$).
My books are in Danish (of course) English, German, Swedish, French, Italian and latin (Tacitus and Sueton).
I will be quite willing to make relevant copies of parts of the books that might have interest for people concerned and serious.
Has a large Science and sci-fi collection + 40+ books on the ancient world (Hardcover)

Instead of my rambeling all off the books and the like off it would be easier if interestet parties just mentioned what area of ineterest they have, and i would answer.

Best of whishes. Alexander. :)
My motto would be 'Truth will out, but no truth is absolute'.
We all should look for the truth, no matter how painful or obnoxious it might be. but we always have to keep in mind that any truth we find will be coloured by both our self as well as those that createt it. an absolute truth is always impossible to reach since we as species by nature is falible. the greatest danger is when we convinces our self that the truth we know is the only truth that counts.

Worth remembering that truth is not the same as law of reality. IE the law of gravity no matter how it is describet is always as law that counts, likewise all other natural laws, it is only our incomplete grasp of them that can make them seem inconsistent or untruthfull.

About time you reappear, Alexander.

We're looking to appoint CHF ambassador in different countries around the world. Got one in London and Paris respectively, so I guess it's your turn to volunteer for 'patriotic' duty for CHF :haha:

Do you have any "League of Extraordinary Gentleman" comics?

& about those RPGs do you mean D&D type games?

Dear Alexander, I am definitely keen to know what you have in your collection of comics. I dearly missed mine, as my mum said that I have to get rid of them - we were moving house then. What I considered as national treasure were rubbish to her! :(

:( The sad part of it is that in my years from 19-23 i got rid of much of my collections since it was not cool or helped me score the ladies, + it brought in a pretty penny to go to town fore or invite the lady of the week out for a resturant, since then i has gradually collectet over the years (16 years now since i startet again)

I have LoEG complete, when it comes to graphic novels i really like, i collect then in original language when possible. As to the RPG, it counts both D&D types and much else besides, i also have a fairly good collection of board games besides the RPG ones.

Most of my collection is in danish whit english a close second (All of my graphic novels are in english), but to use their english titles i have Beetle Baily complete. ('Basserne' in danish 750 numbers of them to this date), also all their has been written/drawn of 'Modesty Blaise', 'Prince Valiant' is also complete.
In short there is a lot, not least albums and grown up comics. (I try real hard to get anything that Corben has drawn). 'Asterix & Obelix' is another album series i have complete.
Also have exstensive numbers of several Marvel conserning Punisher, Lobo (He's not Marvel i know), Nightwalkers (Complete), old Errie horror magazines, likewise old 'tomb of horror', Monsters of filmland (Not a comic i know). also have Fangoria complete since it first came out 27 years ago (1979).

By the ways the numbers are 2½ years old i have gotten more since.

Extraordinary collection Alexander, when did you start collecting comics/RPGs/boardgames? Who brought it to your attention?

Assuming a constant rate of accumulation, I estimate you should now have;

489x18/16=550 hard cover books.

2102x18/16=2365 paper back books.

3800x18/16=4275+ comics/comic books.

400x18/16=450+ books on RPG's of various types.

270x18/16=304+ magazines.

Why?? Im much older than you Liang Jieming, so i have of course had the oppotunity to collect much more at a fairly steady pace than most others in here, it is not becourse i'm rich or fanatic in my collecting (For the most part) it is just becourse i have had time on my side compared to most in here, also the list i made was the one given to the Tax offices for death taxes in connection whit the death of my father, my real collection if you took all that i have of readable or playable material is quite a bit larger than the one shown, it dosn't incl my movie magazines as an eksample, and they cover 226 for Fangoria alone, much of my collection is also inheritet by the way.

I startet collecting at the age of 6 by the way when i had learned to read, it was Donald duck & co. a weekly Disney comic that was my part of my weekly allowance.

Anyway i'm quite prepared to get information and PDF' it to does that have the interest, you just have to be somewhat specific. IE no *all you have about ancient warfare..* try and narrow it down somewhat.

Yes my collection got a huge boost, i was ekstremly lucky at an auktion, this time it was cases that were sold of wholesale whit no peeking, so i chose the heaviest ones, in short i ended up whit a fairly formidable collection of Horror and Sci-Fi books incl an complete 1'ed of Stephen King in English. and several books on mathermatics and Astronomical subjekts.
All in All i used the Equlivant of 143 US $ for 216 Hardbacks and 187 Paperback books, all in very good condition + 8 silkscarfs to my lovely wife and two real Sarongs in red/gold and turkis/silver. which i know cost a fortune normally, And she fits into them too :-)
