I wonder who will play Lü Bu (Fengxian) 吕布 (奉先)? I hope they do not make him the immortal god that the novel made him out to be. For thoughs who seen the TV series did they make Lü Bu (Fengxian) 吕布 (奉先) a warrior who could fight 10000 single handed?

I thought that this movie was about red cliffs. Why would Lu Bu be in it?

John Woo is famous for action movie.. I think, this movie will have lots of action stuffs like stunt horse-riding, lots of battle scene.. just curious who will play Zhugeliang.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

it will have korean and japanese actors because this topic is also big in those two countries. dun forget that we still play koei's san games made by the japanese.

but i guess that the movie might be in english just like the samurai as it is an american movie.

Aftermath of Chi Bi? Is that when the naval battle is over or when Guan Yu lets Cao Cao escape?

Think it'll come out state side? I think it will.

Maybe even without Quentin Tarantino's support!

Who is Quentin Tarantino?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

A popular American film maker. His newest movie was Kill Bill. He's good friends with Sonny Chiba (Japanese actor who appears in Kill Bill). He grew up with Hong Kong action movies and such, the guy really loves Asian cinema (he even used the Shaw Brothers logo for the beginning of the movie.)

the movie 'Hero', with Jet Li, was postponed for a long while in America. Miramax was going to release it all hacked up and dubbed, with Quentin Tarantino to support it. Quentin Tarantino made sure the movie was not altercated in any way though, and Hero was released as 'Quentin Tarantino presents: Hero"

it's pretty dumb that they did that, Jet Li is already well known in the states, and Tarantino didn't have anything to do with making the film (though he did defend its release). Just shows you how little confidence Miramax has in foreign films.

Hero could have been much better if it was heavilly dubbed anyone how knows me knows I cannot stand subbed movies. I just hope that we can see a REAL english version (like that will ever happen) but it's more likly to see a dubbed version wich is also unliky. What do I care I just hope it makes it's way to the US.

I find dubbing to really take away from the movie viewing experience. American voice actors are not very good (say, compared to Japan.). Even there, from what I know, Japanese show foreign movies subtitled. I find dubbing to hurt the movie viewing experience, one does not get the same feeling of tone and nuance in voice with dubbing. It also takes away from the viewing experience for me.
