But if one doesn't know the other language subbing is rather useless. I may be primative but I like to look at the pretty pictures in a movie and not read a text line.

It goes from Dong Zhou to the aftermath of Chi Bi from what I heard.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Lu Bu was already executed nine years before the battle of Chibi... and no, Chow Yun Fat isn't going to be Lu Bu, he's supposed to play Liu Bei.

According to Monkeypeaches.com,

Chow Fat Yun - Liu Bei
Jet Li - Zhou Yu
Gong Li & Zhang Ziyi - Qiao sisters
Tony Leung - Zhuge Liang

Hmm.... ? How are they going to make the movie? Are they going for the long-hours detailed movie OR just a brief normal short movie?

Hope it lives up to the expectation. <_<

i don't like John Woo or Chow Yun Fat.

and the The Three Kingdoms era is overly romanticized as is

This should be great.
However I hope its an Epic movie like "Emporer and the assasin" not some "Hero" like fighting movie.

Chow Yun Fat will play Zhou Yu...... this is the newest word.....

how old was Zhou Yu when the battle of chibi took place anyway :g:

btw, liang zhaowei will in the movie too

what to expect? 1/3 drama 1/3 fight 1/3 battle of wits.
灭六国者, 六国也, 非秦国也。族秦者,秦也,非天下也。

roughtly translated...

the six states destroyed the six states, not qin.
qin ruled qin, not the whole country.

by the way, i dun like the cast...firstly i dun really like Chow Yun Fat in ancient outfits...he should stick to the suit holding a a pistol.
secondly...the cast is pretty much the same as all the big chinese movies with an intention of an audience in the west....ya know..Chow Yun fat, Jet Li, Gong Li, Zhang Ziyi, in fact, i'll be really disappointed if the two of them play Big and Small Qiao. Why can't they get some not too well known but much hotter chic to play the female characters, like they did with the Japanese chic in Kill Bill?
I'll spew if the armours are anything like the ones we saw in Hero...with the lame helmets and round shields and such.
my hopes are not high...

Well, it IS the battle of red cliff. I don't see how they can make people fly in the air and do karate tricks in this storyline. I'm betting my money that this time it actually has a REAL story. Given its 5,000 yrs of history, it has to come up with a Alexander story SOMETIME.

I thought the armor in Hero was cool, if not fine.

and Chiaki Kuriyama is Japanese, I don't think she knows Chinese, that seems like a pretty obvious deterrant
Zhang zhi is plenty hot too

i didn't say it has to be her...i mean someone like her, not famous...but hotter than the ones they like to use everytime there's a big chinese production.
