thanks your explanation really make me n my friend clear.

i try to learn convert mandarin to hokkien words per words using hokkien song (because, tv series is too fast to catch up their pronounce)
so i need u to help me to convert these song, so i can learn per words.
please convert it to hokkien. thank you very much.

All Hokkien words doesn't have the 'W' consonant. So it is 'Gua'.

Hokkien uses different words than mandarin. You can't translate one by one all the words only most words.

According to what Singaporean Hokkiens would pronounce it, 陳美萍 (chen mei ping) = Tan Bee Peng

Quanzhou hokkien pronounces 美 (mei) as "Mi". Amoy Hokkien pronounces 美 (mei) as "Bi" or "Bee".

Both are correct since there is no "standard hokkien", even though people likes to hold Amoy Hokkien as standard one. Quanzhou hokkien tends to replace 'b' of Amoy Hokkien with "m"

Uhm.. the title doesn't say Hokkien is not a chinese language. Where do you get that idea ?

Also, normally, when people says "Chinese", it usually refers to Mandarin Chinese or chinese character. If people want to refer to specific chinese dialect, they would say Hokkien, Cantonese etc.
