Naruwan, you should pack up your bags and come on over, eh? Though it would be pretty tough for you to play baseball in two feet of snow.

Unfortunately, I live in mid-BC Okanagan area, so only about 60 Chinese people in total live here in a population of about 150,000. However, quite a few Japanese people here though. It's stupid how they offer Japanese in some Okanagan high schools, but not Chinese. Those local(white) people... they don't get it lol.

Vancouver is about 50% Chinese, and about 20% Vietnamese, Korean, Cambodian, Native Indian, and India Indian. Go to Richmond, THE Asian suburb and it's 90% Chinese and 10% other Asian/Native
You don't have to know a word of English there because every shop in Richmond is Chinese.(mostly Cantonese) It's not Vancouver. It's Hongcouver!

The Chinese represents 50% of the visible population of Vancouver not the total population (or 29% of the total population).

Also Richmond is about 40% Chinese which is about the same as the White population.

By the way I'm from Calgary.

It's the price you pay for living in a place like Kelowna with almost no Asian people. So I decided to take martial arts after that c**p happened.

And btw, I'm serious about the "tooth knocked out" incident. My dad was walking downtown at night and got mugged by this racist crackhead with a razor sharp ring and a few fellow racist buddies. Also, the police ignored us for a whole five minutes, leaving dad to bleed because they were "too busy."

omg really?! yea sux when you live in a mostly white neighbourhood =/ I live in an area that's mostly frenchy and they r very racist against chinese ppl. Downtown Montreal, Chinatown and Brossard(south shore of montreal - the richmond of Montreal lol) are the only areas where there's lots of chinese... Did u guyz sue or charge him? for knocking ur dad..

I wish we could sue him. However, we don't know his name, phone number, or any other ID info about him. It was nighttime when he attacked dad. All we know is that he was blond, about my height, and was wearing a sharp edged ring. We told that to the police guys and they couldn't do anything. They told us to avoid confrontations by not going out to downtown streets at night, which are filled with druggies. Well, I guess we could have taken a detour from the theatre we were at, but I mean Canada's "supposed" to be a free country where people can go where ever they want.
Can't wait till our brothaz in Vancouver get their butts over here.
