I stumbled on this site by accident looking for information on Chinese holidays. I have lived in China for about 7 years independently studying Chinese culture and jade culture. What inspired me to do this was the vaste amount of misinformation and poor translations I found in western literature on China. I found many of the displays of jade and stone articles in museums mislabled and misrepresented. I saw some of these problems in your references on Chinese festivals and memorial days, which I will discuss in detail later. The interesting thing is I am not a historian, archeologist or Chinese scholar in any way. I am a geologist and artist. It is my intense interest in jade and oriental culture that began over thirty years ago in a search that lead me to China. Part of the result of this research is I am nearing completion of complete and comprehensive jade, jade-like stone, and jade culture dictionary. The reason for this is that jade represents the Rosetta stone of Chinese culture and the vaste misinformation and inaccuracies represent a barrier to understanding China. There are more charactors and words related to jade than any other subject, and this sub-language is largely lost in present day literature on China. Virtually every Chinese-English dictionary in print mistranslates yu as jade.

It seems people have been defacing our map again... someone put a pin in the middle of Africa with derogatory comments, a pin out in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, etc. And there's some double pins in there from the same people as well.
