I've been discussing this with Mok through PM. I thought it would be best to clarify the comments I had made in my most recent thread in the news forum for anyone who was shocked and/or appalled.

I know my outbursts about homosexuality came across as extremely harsh and offensive. I won't lie -- I do find homosexuality repulsive and yes, I am opposed to same-sex marriage and adoption. What I am not is somebody who judges other's merits on the basis of their sexual orientation.

See, I've been dealing with some hurtful slander recently. There is a rumor being spread by a particularly malicious individual that I'm a homosexual. Which couldn't possibly be further from the truth. The mentioned malicious individual has a a bunch of gay friends who are now probably under the impression that I'm gay. It's likely pointless to tell you how much of a problem this is and will be.

Another thing I hope people understand is that me and Kunisada aren't exactly buddies at the best of times. Whatever I say, he disagrees. Whatever he says, I disagree. Every topic we debate degenerates into a ****-throwing contest, and whoever throws the most **** wins. On the gay rights thread everything got completely out-of-hand, I responded to ad-hominems with insults towards both Kunisada and homosexuals.

So yes, while the opinions I expressed were my own. The insults were just another part of the childish flame-wars I partake in. Don't take what was said on the thread at face-value. I'm just a big baby when it comes to debating on the web. :P

I strongly hope the mods won't close this thread. I think it's important to explain exactly why I made the comments I did, regardless of how illogical the reasoning.

Probably not a whole lot. All the gay men I know would not approach men they know who are straight, and once they get to talk to you, they'll know right away. In fact, all the gay men I know are not even interested in the slightest degree in straight men, for the very fact that straight men are straight. Straight men who are oblivious of this are flattering themselves when they think that gay men are out to get them.

If you're fearing that these men will "get" you, then know that they won't be interested the moment they find out that you're not gay. And if you're not gay, and say that you're not gay, it'll be blatantly obvious (from the gay men I know, it seems that gay men are much more capable of telling who is straight than straight men are able to tell who are gay.)

One thing I'd remind you is that the more you try to claim that you're not gay, the more likely that people will think that you are gay.

You don't know all the details. Most people who are malicious aren't stupid, and this slander won't be dispelled easily, I'm afraid.

Regardless, the point of this thread was to apologise, not to discuss my problems. Let's try and stay on topic.
