Yesterday, at 5:35 local (Paris) time, Madeleine Charton, my fourth child (and third daughter) was born. The baby and the mother are fine, and that very proud father ardently hopes that she'll become a respectable member of CHF in due time (and succeed me in the classical chinese forum...).

Madeleine, 10 minutes old, in a scholarly pose ("now, what does this 焉 stand for?")

But then, chance might have it that she ends in the Martial Arts forum, as this very personal impersonation of the famous "big clawed tiger faces the bloodshot eyed dragon, while keeping a wary eye on the sharp teethed wolf" stance, by 10 minutes old Madeleine, attests...

Parents of boys of the same age can apply for a cradle wedding (just send me a PM), feet will not be bound (and are already big), and requirements will be very high...

Sincere felicitations!

A beautiful daughter/baby. I'm glad to see that you still have the joy and pride of fatherhood in spades having had this wonderful experience several times before!

Yes Madeleine is a girl name... Here is a cute (and kinda sad) song on her name (translation into english at the end)

Madeleine

Demain j'attendrai Madeleine
Je rapporterai du lilas
J'en rapporterai toute la semaine
Madeleine elle aimera ça
Demain j'attendrai Madeleine
Demain j'attendrai Madeleine
On ira au cinéma
Je lui dirai des "je t'aime"
Madeleine elle aimera ça

[english translation]

Madeleine

I'm waiting for Madeleine
I brought some lilacs for her
I bring some every week
Madeleine loves these flowers
I'm waiting for Madeleine
We'll take the 33 tramway
To eat some French fries at Eugene's
Madeleine likes these so much
Madeleine she's my Christmas
She's mine own America
She even too good for me
As her cousin, Joel, says
I'm waiting for Madeleine
We'll go to the cinema
I will say to her "Je t'aime"
Madeleine likes this so much

She is so pretty
She is so more so
She is all my life
That Madeleine I'm waiting for

I'm waiting for Madeleine
But it is raining on my lilacs
It rains, like every week
And Madeleine does not come
I'm waiting for Madeleine
It is too late for the 33 tramway
Too late for the fries at Eugene's
And Madeleine does not come
Madeleine she's my horizon
She's mine own America
She even too good for me
As her cousin, Gaston, says
But I'm waiting for Madeleine
Still can go to the cinema
I will say to her "Je t'aime"
Madeleine likes this so much

She is so pretty
She is so more so
She is all my life
That Madeleine who doesn't come

I have waited for Madeleine
And I threw away my lilacs
Threw them away, like every week
For Madeleine did not come
I have waited for Madeleine
It's too late for the cinema
I stay here with my "Je t'aime"
And Madeleine will not come
Madeleine she is my hope
She's mine own America
She sure is too good for me
As her cousin, Gaspard, says
I have waited for Madeleine
Now the last tramway has left
They must be closing at Eugene's
And Madeleine will not come

She is so pretty
She is so more so
She is all my life
That Madeleine who will not come

I will wait for Madeleine
I will bring back some lilacs
I'll bring them all week along
And Madeleine will love that
I will wait for Madeleine
We will take the 33 tramway
And eat French fries at Eugene's
Madeleine will like this so much
Madeleine she is my hope
She's mine own America
Too bad if she's too good for me
As her cousin, Gaspard, says
I will wait for Madeleine
We'll go to the cinema
I will say to her "Je t'aime"
Madeleine will like this so much
