Crisis? What crisis?

The crisis of management procedures and reactions to them that resulted in the resignation of the founder of the Forum, General Zhaoyun. In my opinion it was a crisis of growth. CHF is in the process to adjust its administrative ways adequately to its present size and complexity. Please visit the Imperial Capital and see CHF News and Announcements.

Why can one not be a Monarchist, and something else? Monarchy does not necessarily denote a political leaning, as those of us in the UK, New Zealand, Canada or Australia would attest. Monarchy is a structural system not a philosophical one.

Yes, one can be a Monarchist and something else. The first part of the poll has problems such as those. The second part - the test of the political compass - is more solid.

Yes, I am a monarchist and also conservative in my political views, but I know of many monarchists in Australia who are left wing as well. We unite in rejecting republicanism because it fails to provide stability, and a means of resolving political disputes at the highest level which are currently available in our constitutional monarchy.

My score on the political compass test:

Economic Left/Right: -3.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.28

Theoretically speaking, I would classify myself as a Libertarian - Rights Theorist. In reality, I guess that I am closest to Apathetic (which is where I put my vote in the poll) because I don't fully trust any politician and in turn have stopped voting for them.

That's interesting. Why don't you fully trust them? Though whom could one fully trust? Not even oneself. There is always marvel and wonder inside any human being.

The position of TengAi Hui has been added to the chart.

Well, I guess that's why we agree so often...

And if the guys in the lower left are the new leadership (or have the same political leanings), I can definitely understand General Zhaoyun resigning. I had a very similar issue on a perpetual campaign type online game a couple years back.

I find it interesting that so few of us on that chart seem to understand economics, but I guess that shouldn't be too surprising seeing as this is a History forum rather than an Econ forum...

BTW, is General Zhaoyun still around? Does he still participate or is he just Gone?

No, the people on the lower left are NOT the new leadership. Though I said the chart was almost prophetic, now I am not so sure. General Zhaoyun had been giving signs of tiredness, and is also recently wed. There is his university project, which is very demanding. In these circumstances, why suffer little personality clashes like the ones that have recently happened? It seems to me that in other conditions, even with stronger clashes, the General would still be directing CHF.
Also: the political leanings shown in the chart have not really stopped interactions or generated bad feelings amongst CHF members. I think that, though there have been a few cases of harshness, a clima of tolerance and understanding has been prevalent in CHF in the two years I have been here. It seems that this was not always so, and the present rules of behavior, fruit of past experiences, have contributed a lot to that climate.

Why do you say that? The people in the Forum are not only historians; I would think the professional historians might be a minority. The strenght of the forum is history, but there is also a strong cultural component. But the thing is, I don't see why you think so few of us seem to understand economics. From the distribution of people in the four areas of the chart? That would not be enough.

BTW, is General Zhaoyun still around? Does he still participate or is he just Gone?

The General is not gone, he has only resigned the direction. Luckily for us all, he will stay. He has chosen to be in a less demanding position.

After the recent and ongoing economic uncertainty I tend to think that most economic experts don't know much about the subject.

Most of them act like irresponsible train drivers. They give us an exciting wild ride in a fast steam train on the straight with us in tow. They keep shoveling coal in the furnace to increase the speed but forget to apply the brakes when they come to a curve.

Anyone who trully understands economics would likely be too busy making money to bother with this forum. Time is money.
