CHF Staff of the Year Award (SYA)

The "Staff of the Year Award" is a yearly award to a staff member who is recognised for his various staff works esp. moderation work to this community. It was designed to be a reward and motivation system for active staff who had volunteered and taken the precious time to help run this comunity.

There will be an award badge associated with the staff of the year award. However, in normal circumstance, all staffs have their carry their own staff badges (administrator, super moderator or moderator) to indicate their staff role in CHF. Only if the staff is no longer working as a staff in CHF will he be allowed to carry the Staff of the Year Award badge, should he win the award.

Who are the staffs?
They are administrators, super moderators and moderators who run this site. They make up the CHF moderation team.
Refer to http://www.chinahist...p?showtopic=201 to find out who are the staffs.

How the award works?
You nominate up to THREE staff members (including any past staff members except General Zhaoyun) to receive the award, during the nomination period. To nominate just PM General Zhaoyun, Zuo Zongtang, Mok, Publius, or Yang Zongbao with the names and valid reasons for the nomination. The nomination period lasts for two months towards end of a year, from the December of the current year till January of next year (e.g. from December 2007 till January 2007).

Kindly note that General Zhaoyun, the founder and chief administrator, will not be entitled to be nominated as part of the award rule.

Nominees will be put into a list on this thread by Admins, along with the reasons given by nominators, but the names of nominators will not be revealed. Voting is done via a poll on this thread- all nominees start with 0 votes, and the one with most votes at the end of the voting cycle will receive a listing in this thread.

When voting you should consider these things.

Is the staff active on the forums? Has the staff been active in moderating the topics of CHF, participate in the discussion of thread/topics or actively running the activities in CHF?

Is the staff having good conduct and setting a good example to members? Does he/she follow forum rules himself/herself?

Is the staff friendly, polite and helpful? When you need help, did you receive any help from him/her. Does he/she answer to your question? Does he/she use a friendly language?

Does the staff have good moderation skill? How well is the staff in moderating the topics in CHF, such as editing, moving, stepping in to stop troublemakers etc? Is the staff using his/her power appropriately, and when it's necessary?

Has the staff taken the time to contribute to CHF? Whether it's content contribution, contributing good ideas on running CHF, or helping to organise activities, establishing policy, moderation work, resolving conflict among members etc.

You must provide a valid reason why you have chosen this specific person(s). If there is no reason given or your reason is not considered a valid one by Admins (e.g. it is based on trivial criteria), your nomination will not be accepted.

Note that this award pertains only to staff members. A past recipient of the award can be nominated again. Staff may not nominate himself/herself, but can vote on himself/herself. He/she can however nominate up to 3 other staffs.

I didn't win one and I served for 2 years - 3 hours per day. I don't think you'll get one man.

There's a way of transferring funds that is even faster than electronic banking. It's called marriage. (all relations to the image below is strictly coincidental)
