Yes, great job on the newsletter. I enjoyed reading the articles, unfortunately I wasn't able to help as much as I wanted to. (There's always next month.) Oh and Kaiselin, give me a shout via PM if you want me to write something for you.

I just want to say, that is an awesome newsletter! Congrats to the new editorial team!

The formating is very good can I suggest making it into a PDF so that you can forward to members who don't frequent the forum.

Sorry, due to copyright issue, intellectual property rights issue and to respect immense academic research carried out by CHF editorial team, we do not plan to e-mail the entire newsletter and han lin journal to members. Neither do we plan to convert it into PDF, as it would be too tedious.

Instead, if you wish to read it, you will have to come to CHF to read it online or print it. Yes, that is a rule we impose to prevent plagiarism and to respect intellectual research by editorial teams.

For those who wish to quote the text and use it for your assignment/writing, you will need to quote our source including China History Forum, URL, author, Online Han Lin Journal etc.

I just went to my mailbox hoping for comments from any of the 350 members that have read the April edition, and not one letter to the Editor :cry^:

I am not fishing for compliments, but looking for comments,,, or rather critiques, I know that it is not that great and we still need work,,,

We need to know what we could add to make the newsletter more enjoyable or if there was something you liked so much that you would like to see more of.

What do you want to see.

and of course I have to add, there was no offers of willing volunteers either.... <_< :(

Seriously>

Please no rush to praise, and console me. That is not what I am looking for.... no ego boosting either....I don't need that, that is a dangerous vice and pitfall I prefer to avoid....

Please take a moment of your time to drop you comments into the mail box.... it would really help.

This is also is true regarding the Han Lin Journal too, but to even a much greater degree on both advice, guidance, and help.

I want to know how to serve the CHF community better I can not do so if I do not get feed back.

Firstly I would like to commend and congratulate the CHF Editorial Team! :clapping: I would suggest that if you really wanted to make the CHF Newsletters more scholarly you need to make the newsletter more accessible: perhaps you may need to publish hard copies to acadeimc institutions or make it into a PDF file. I know it is painstakingly tedious but the greater the effort the greater the reward! Also you should consider using more referencing such as footnoting, this will improve its academic reputability. Otherwise keep the great effort up! :jump:

I just wanted to thank Kaiselin and the whole Han Lin Journal team for their time and effort. This past week I used the Hungry Ghost Festival articles in class, so I wanted to give extra thanks to Xng and Moon. Your articles helped to spark a lot of discussion about the H.G.F. and Chinese history in general.

After reading GZ's note in Post #11, I had better add that the reading material which I gave my students included Xng's and Moon's names and the url to the thread containing that issue of the Han Lin Journal, so hopefully I haven't broken any rules or offending anyone.
