Here are some stone carvings of Khmer (Cambodian) armies from the Angkor's period.

Interesting spears. Kinda like the Chinese Ge but balanced front and back doesn't it?

Those are not Khmer infantries. They are Tai Mercenaries/Soldiers. Those Spears most likely are the Chinese Ge the Tais adopted from Southern China. These are Khmer Soldiers:

Well they didn't seem to be big on armor back then, but here's a river battle between the Khmer (left) and Champa (right) forces circa 1181.

MORO ARMOUR

Posted Image
Rare Moro armor made with bronze/brass plates and chain mail. Thick metal plates with a good dark patina from age held together with intricately woven links. The lower hook used for holding the armor shut is missing, there is some re-weaving on some of the links on the back, and some areas of discoloration where the bronze has been stained by corrosion. Overall very good condition for a 19th century armor,

p/s: Moro armor are same Bugis Armor..

moro armor use brass, some hide and horn to create an armor. most of them are inspired by european and indian style armor.

was there an armor worn by the vietnamese? are there any pictures of their armor?

The second picture would be armor from the Ayutthaya Kingdom. The movie Suriyothai (the name of a female ruler and warrior) is based on the Burmese invasion, based out of Ava, of the Ayutthaya kingdom in 1767.
I am thinking of something profound to say.....

I'm not entirely sure of the absolute accuracy of the Burmese armour. It's definitely not 18th century though. The invasion that the film is based on was that in 1548 from the Burmese capital which was at the time Bago/Pegu or Hanthawaddy/Hongsawadi.

Yep, you're right. I confused invasions, I hope no one noticed that. :P

ive watched that movie, and i saw some armor worn by thais bear european influence, specially brestplates. maybe, it comes from portugal, for they also engaged trade with them, as well as thais also hire portuguese riflemen as mercenaries.

I don't know much about the others but Vietnamese armor in the past much resembles the Chinese armor. I think that's because of the close relationship between the two countries, compared to the less relationship with other countries in the region.
