Hi everyone,
I would like to know if there are any armourers/craftsmen out there who make historically accurate Chinese armour. I would like to be able to have it custom sized so it is wearable, I asked on a couple of sword forums I am a member of without any luck so I am hoping someone here could help me out.
Thanks,
Dave

You will only be able to find craftsman from China that makes historical chinese armour.
You might be interested in contacting his company Chuanzhen Culture Video/Fashion company(成都市传承文化影视服装有限公司) which is based in Sichuan province. This company specialised in making ancient chinese props/costumes/armour/weapons for used in movies and drama series.
The contact person: Mr. Wang Zhaogang 王兆刚先生
Contact Number: +86-028-87436730
Location: Chengdu city Wuhou Region, Wuhou way 331 成都市武侯区武侯大道331#
You might need a chinese translator as I don't think he speaks English.

That's not entirely accurate, Zhaoyun. You will only be able to find craftsman from China that makes historical chinese armour.
Dave, you might want to try the SCA. SCA.org would be a good first stop to get into contact with armourers within the US, Australia and Europe who can craft what you're looking for. Depending on what era you want and rank, it might even be easy and rather inexpensive.
Now, if you're looking for something like Shan Wen Kia or Star Pattern or Mountain Pattern scale, you're pretty much screwed. No one in the world has any exact knowledge of it so as to craft a perfect replica. However, there are many of us trying to figure it out. And a couple out there who will even build you a set of what they believe to be a good replica. I'm part of a small group working on a different idea for it.
