Learn chinese history should read chinese literature. But old chinese is not easy to understood, and it has some different meanings, so if someone want to translation it, it will be a burdensome work. Besides, yuan dynasty(especially after the year 1279) is a strange dynasty to the most people, compired with the Mongolia empire.
I have some chinese historical maps and world's maps, if you need, please visit th follow links:

http://muxiang37.blo...SkmH5Cd3zLl5g==

There is no territory maps of Yuan Dynasty but some photos of Egypt empire and maps of other dynasty.

You need quite alot of scholars to work on them. And translation will need to be government funded and will probably take years to complete.

Sir,

The project is very huge, more than you can imagine.

I come from China (mainland) and I know it. This is not a project in which only a few people can spend years to complete it. Even if it's completed, there would also be many errors in translation.

Looking for translations in any European language of Yuan Shi, particularly the biographies of religious figures, and biographies of Mongke Qan (Khan) and Qubilai Qan (Khubilai Khan).
Hope you can help.
Cheers,

Some more works in english:

1. H.F. Schurmann, Economic structure of the Yüan Dynasty (Translation of chapters 93, 94 of the Yüan Shih), Harvard-Yenching Institute studies XVI.

2. Ch`i-ch`ing Hsiao, The Military Establishment of the Yuan Dynasty, Harvard University. (Translation of chapters 98, 99 of the Yuan Shih).

3. There was a lot of translations done by Francis Woodman Cleaves, mostly printed in HJAS in 50`s-80`s. Try to find these articles on Paragonbook.

I do know some additional works in English, German, French and Russian languages, can provide you with the details if interested. Just let me know what exactly you are searching for...

As far as I know, there isn't a english translation for the '24 histories'..in which I think, the Yuanshi is one of them...CHF does however is thinking of launching a project on our own to translate them from classical chinese into english..it would be however a cumbersome project.

well, I agree with you. It may take years to do that.but it's worth,it's such a good oppotunity to introduce chinese history to the common English reader.
Maybe we can launch a system like wikipedia, bring enormous people to do this project.

The Yuan Shi in whole was not translated to any of the western language so far, however the biographies you are talking about could be found in these books/articles:

4. Munkuev, N., Kitaiskiy istochnik o pervyh mongolskih Khanah (Chinese source on the first mongol Khans), Moscow, Nauka, 1966. Here you also can find the biography of Yelü Chucai, taken from YS, chapter 146. Price around US$100, very hard to find item, although it could be find in internet as a text file.
5. Khrapachevsky R.P., Zolotaya Orda v istochnikah (Golden Horde in sources), vol.3, Chinese and Mongolian sources, Moscow 2009. Price around US$30.
Biographies of Chingiz, Ögedei, Guyuk, Möngke, Jochi, Subedei, etc. taken from YS.

If you have more questions - please, feel free to ask.

There is a French translation of chapters 107 and 108 that was published sevaral
years ago. You might try interlibrary loan to get a copy of these. Easch chapter is a
separate book

You obviously mentioned
Ratchnevsky, Paul, Un Code des Yuan,
Paris, vol.1 (1937), vol.2 (1972), vol.3 -Index (1977), vol.4(1985).
There also was a reprint of vol.1 in 1985.

Not at all, Yeshi.
You can read Munkuev's book here:
http://www.vostlit.i...menty/china.htm

This one is what we are talked about:
НАДПИСЬ НА МОГИЛЕ ЕЛЮЙ ЧУ-ЦАЯ
(1243) Надгробная надпись на могиле Елюй Чу-цая
For each chapter of the book a separate link is given.

Interesting stuff, Sergey. I'd add

Abramowski, Waltraut (1979), “Die chinesischen Annalen des Möngke: Übersetzung des 3. Kapitels des Yüan-shih”, Zentralasiatische Studien 13: 7-71.

While this isn't the biography of Möngke, just the annals of his reign, it is useful stuff, and my university got it through document supply from the British Library.

Gosh. I don't know whether this is already posted elsewhere, but it is new to me:

Rybatzki, Volker (2006), Die Personennamen und Titel der Mittelmongolischen Dokumente: Eine lexikalische Untersuchung, Publications of the Institute for Asian and African Studies 8, Helsinki: Yliopistopaino Oy.

It is available as a pdf here, but beware - it is 877 pages and nearly 8MB in extent.

More useful stuff:

Bulletin of Sung-Yuan Studies 14 (pdf) here.
Their archive contents page here.

Farquhar, David M. (1990), The Government of China Under Mongolian Rule: A Reference Guide, Stuttgart: Franz Steiner Verlag. - very useful reference for officials and offices.
