By my view being professional includes scholarly as far as the standards of CHF. Not all members will of course be scholars and professionals in the field, and many will post dialogues with out references, which is normal for an open forum. To fulfill ChF's mission it must be open to a certain extent for people to learn and grow. My reference is to the core of CHF who set the standards, and not necessarily the staff only. This was unfortunately reduced when a number of my favorite members did not return after the crash. I will not name names out of respect, but I have a little private memorial in my mind for them, and miss them.

I'm not sure this is the right place to post this. My suggestion is technical.

Can the threads be sorted automatically by date of most recently posted comment? The we can see immediately which are active and the "hottest" topics will appear first. At the moment, for long threads, I am shifting through many pages to see if there is a reply a topic started years ago.

If there is a way to do this in the settings, I have missed it and hope someone will direct me to it.

As a beginner i am very at a loss to find informations puzzled around different threads yet sometimes even contradicting into a single harmonious unit of knowledge.
it would be sooo great if we head a thread where we can collect all the concise knowledge which is quiet consens to all experts. this thread could be a collection of graphic presentations of chinese history, chinese scholars and their influence on other scholars in a kind of social diagram and so on. so basically can be all the important stuff to know about china in a very unambigious and graphically pleasing way of depiction.
