In terms of the origins or history of these 2 guards of hell,
1) Hei Bai Wu Chang 黑白五常
2) Niu Tou Ma Mian 牛头马面
what is the difference between them in terms of job scope in hell?
exactly how did they both come about as well?
lastly what is the English name or translation for them?
how are they compared to westerner's ripper( Gou Hun Shi Zhe 钩魂使者) & the Japanese's Death Angle/God ?

In English, they are known as Grim Reaper.
For info about Hei Bai Wu Chang 黑白无常, refer to http://www.chinahist...-white-wuchang/ . One is dressed in black and the other is dressed in white. Both have very long tongue.
Niou Tou Ma Mian 牛头马面 are simply two deities-guards of the hell (one with the bull's head, the other with horse's head). Their job was quite similar to Hei Bai Wu Chang, i.e. to catch the ghost and sent them to the hell.
I think the only differences are their appearance and their different legends/origin.

Niu Tou Ma Mian 牛头马面
They are usually seen in Daoist or Chinese folks temples.
