1. speak only when you have something to say
2. say what you have to say, and say it as it is said
3. speak your own language, not the language of others
4. speak the language of your own time
thx! and, if you have an online reference for that, i'd appreciate that too!

can anyone tell me what the chinese graphs are for Hu Shi's four points of the "literary revolution"?
1. speak only when you have something to say
2. say what you have to say, and say it as it is said
3. speak your own language, not the language of others
4. speak the language of your own time
thx! and, if you have an online reference for that, i'd appreciate that too!
The original eight points (八不主义) were
The four points version was published in 1918 in 建设的文学革命论.

3. speak your own language, not the language of others
It actually says "speak your own words, not others words", refering to avoid quoting the Classics (original point 7, but also a reference to points 3, 4, 5).
