A clear headed reading of the Order of Battle http://en.wikipedia....order_of_battle shows very plainly that the US/UN Forces of 4 divisions {13 Regiments} vs 13 Chinese Divisions {54 regiments} that any attempt to invade Mainland China by crossing the Yalu River was bound to fail-as had happened before under http://en.wikipedia....tomi_Hideyoshi. In other words MacArthur attempt to invade China via Korea-instead of letting the South Korean Forces under his control alone rush past the 38th Parallel makes the almost but not nearly successful http://en.wikipedia....n_Market_Garden look like a total success!
