Aljunied GRC will be a crucial fight for WP.

I would say a re-count of votes is needed in Aljunied GRC

Potong Pasir might be going back to PAP

Singapore: Founding Father Resigns From Cabinet

May 14, 2011

Singapore founding father Lee Kuan Yew has resigned from the Cabinet following his party’s worst election result since 1965, AP reported May 14. The resignation marks the first time since 1959 that he has not been a member of Singapore’s Cabinet. After the election, Ruling People’s Action Party leaders said they were surprised at the degree to which the voters resented them for perceived arrogance and a failure to work with the citizens. The PAP won all but 12 of 87 seats. It was hardly a drubbing of the PAP, but clearly they felt they had failed. I don;t know what the percentage of the vote was.

I stand corrected.

Of course, anywhere else that would be a drubbing for the Opposition.

The Singapore General Election is always an important "Case Study" for the Chinese Communist Party. Academics and scholars has always been debating whether the "Singapore Model" of governance and system should be applied to future Chinese policies. The election results will be a wake up call.

As a Bi-partisan Singaporean, I foresee the opposition will definitely gain ground in the next 10 to 20 years and a multi-party parliament system will be inevitable as the society has evolved and matured. This will be a natural path.

The question now is how the future Chinese leadership see this "Case Study" and adapts to it in the next 50 years. Failure to transit to this phase will catastrophic for China and the world as a whole.

in 5 years time, Expect a big drop in their percentage of winning votes if they don't buck up.
