Hello all, I've been learning more about traditional Chinese interior designs (mostly Ming and Qing dynasties) and one area I'm a bit confused about is the doors. It seems that in Chinese architecture, all of the rooms are physically separate halls, therefore there are no doors separating rooms within the same hall. When separate halls are connected, there is simply an open passageway with no door. Few of the doors aside from the entrance have locks or doorknobs of any sort, and they are simply pushed open and shut. Here is what I've gathered so far, but I'm not sure if it's correct.
Main Entrance
- Solid
- Studded
- Two doorknobs
- Bolt locks
- Leaf door
Hall Entrance
- Solid bottom with open latticework at top
- Decorative carvings
- No doorknobs
- No locks
- Leaf door or folding

Are there any doors separating rooms within the same hall as shown in this image?
