Generally, the family poem is only for 28 character (i.e. 4 lines x 7 words). When the poem ends, the head of family is expected to write another one up.

For my family, it is only 14 characters, mounted on the family temple. Once upon completion of the 14 generation, the head of the last generation will commission another new 14 characters (poem) for naming purposes. So, it may be futile to ask for a "Lin" family generation poem, as it may vary a lot between clans, geographical location, religious belief etc. Best person to ask is one of the elders in your family.
