Would anyone be able to help summarize the following story:
http://www.confucian...il.asp?id=31287
I'm having a hard time comprehending it. It's just out of my reading level.

I have a set of antique cuff links made of silver and ivory. They have delicate characters carved in them, and I'd like to have more info on what they say. I can't quite make out what the point is, and what I can make out seems a little disturbing. I'm sure there must be a reason and a point to them, but I need some help to figure it out.
From what I've been able to make out and find on Google, I think the cuff links have something to do with the above linked story, but I'm not sure.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. I love puzzles, but this one has exhausted me.
