Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can trace my Chan family. There are no old relatives and I am wondering how one finds records and clan homes.
I thought you said you were English?
And Chan...could you post the character for it?
Also, read my post on your other topic about different dialects.
Cheers!

"夫君子之行:靜以修身,儉以養德;非淡泊無以明志,非寧靜無以致遠。" - 諸葛亮
One should seek serenity to cultivate the body, thriftiness to cultivate the morals. If you are not simple and frugal, your ambition will not sparkle. If you are not calm and cool, you will not reach far. - Zhugeliang

I am English, my husband is Chinese, I look on his Chinese family as mine and refer to it in the same way as I do my own English family.

Well, you had me a bit confused there
Please do refer to your topic "Totally Totally Confused" to see what I found out about your husband's hometown.
If you want to trace genealogy, give www.apex.net.au a try. They give info and resources on tracing the genealogies of Taishanese.
p.s. just a suggestion, why don't u post your pic in the topic "Members' Photos" in the Dragon Gate Inn forum?
