About the site:
http://www.csulb.edu...Etext/index.htm
I discovered that pages 17-20 have been lost.

Also I discover:
To choose appropiately, one must first click the lesson number then the part to be studied (Grammar, Vocabulary etc.), cannot use reversed order.

The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie—deliberate, contrived and dishonest, but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic. Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought. - JFK

Another great site I found :

http://www.chinese-t...m/learn/chinese

40 online lessons (altrough I just found the 20 first)... but it looks really nice.
The website propose also lots of very usefull tools, as dictionnaries (even a French Chinese dictionnary, not very common), and a calligraphy page that's really fun!

hi, i was just wondering if there were any online streaming video sites where i can watch live chinese news or tv shows (in mandarin).

i don't think i will be going to china anytime soon so the only next best thing to help me learn mandarin is to immerse myself in the language :)

what about mandarin movies? any good titles? :)

hi, i was just wondering if there were any online streaming video sites where i can watch live chinese news or tv shows (in mandarin).

1. Try http://www.xqtv.cn/2005/
It contains many online channels in China and Taiwan.

2. The following site might bring you many links to online chinese media site (streaming news, movies etc).

http://www.tv001.net/

3. If you like to watch news from PRC, try CCTV's online streaming news at http://cctv.sina.com...lanmu/XWLB.html OR http://cctv.sina.com.cn/

4. Also you can see the many channels of CCTV at
http://v.cctv.com/CCTVPortal/
However, you need to register to watch to watch the programs.

5. Try the site at
http://tv.sahu.net/gn.htm , which provides you links to all online TV channels in China, which you can watch streaming for free.

6. Also, try Phoenix TV at http://www.phoenixtv.com .
This is one of the best chinese cable TV channel founded by PRC based in Hong Kong. It's somewhat like CNN China. Apparently, if you have cable TV, you should subscribe to it. It contains much news from China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong as well as many cultural programs in chinese. On the website, you can watch some of streaming videos or talks for free. But you'll have to register an account in order to watch most of online streaming TV programs online and this is NOT free (you'll have to pay).

NOTE: Nowadays, many chinese online internet and media (esp. from PRC) have advertisement that has sexual theme. Don't be distracted by these advertisment :g:
