my gripe is micromanagement part. third series and yet they could not come up with good layout. you cannot sort and move generals by tables. man, they should learn from other games like RTK3 layout, etc. maybe developer too proud to learn because of previous sucesses?
forgot to add this, if you use spies to cause revolt, you tie up your enemies army resource too. because if there is not enough army, the revolt is more likely to be successful. also use assasins to kill the generals in the city (train up first by killing shrimp captains). the general helps alot in maintaining order in town especially good ones. you get killer trait +2 influence +1 something for your faction leader if you assasinated enough. inciting revolt basically messes up your enemie's economy and army deployment (basically strangling him). spies and assasins get killed/die too, have more.
lastly if you have revolt in your province, get it back and use extermination (i always use that for own rebel province). it will keep them quiet for a while cause high population -> higher demand -> higher unrest.

I'm using a rulling model called "freedom for the people". I just put some peasants guarding the towns and I don't upgrad walls. If the people's will is to revolte, fine, let them revolte. After they chased my poor peasants out of the town, only to find a rapid reaction force near by which was stationed in key cities and crushed them to kingdom come. After that, I terminate the populance, fill my treasury with plundered golds and some rewards from the senate by retaking a province. I've done it with 3 provinces in Iberic penisular and 1 province in Gaul, I'm so proud of my rapid reaction forces.

egyptian: you can form the phalanx formation with early spearmen. it (early spearmen in phalanx -defensive) butchered armenian(think this faction, forgot after eliminating most of the factions) heavy cavalry - killing all frontal attack cavalries with very few losses. but only in defensive formation else see them get massacred/routed by flank/rear attack. dun like archers killed many of my troops (friendly fire), i try not to use archers much so i cant help you there. and dun like chariots either - slow in changing orders/direction because of chariots. also have problems in navigating in town because bigger unit. but chariots mowing down infantry from rear is quite fun.
actually i want to try the elephants. dun know which faction? maybe use battle function because i am tired of campaigns. egyptian is my third campaign - now i have 32 states, 18 states and 1 rome to go. toughest thing about rome alliance is the navy. i need to use 40+ (3 sets) ships to win roman 10+ ships (1 or 2 star admiral). tried with 30+ ships and lost. sounds pretty ridiculous huh. maybe going to stop playing RTW soon, kind of tired of playing it. maybe play historical/battles here and there.

I've heard that the Pharao's archers can handle themselves pretty well in melee. Chariots can slaughter cavalry, even the Cataphracts (be them horses or camels) are no match for them.
Carthage and Seleucia get elephants. The Carthaginians get armored elephants, insanely powerful. I don't know if Numidians get elephants also.
Well, my advise, just rest and quite playing for a while, and after some times, you will want to play it again. It happened to me with Medieval.
Maybe try to play as Parthia or Scythia, they are cavalry based nations, so one must have a different approach in warfare.

I think chariots need space to manuever, also I've never seen chariots charging into phalanx in my game. Next time try to charge chariots into enemy cavalry, they are wounderful to the job.
Thank you.good luck to your gaming

but i just felt relieved when it ended, more like want to get it over with. But thats quite common for me, completing games quite often leaves empty feeling. maybe its like wat they say : its the journey that matters

I finished the game twice and I still can't unlock it.
Liu ce try this link. there, you don't need a membership for downloadingI'm mad that that download site will not work once it gets too 100% downloaded it says "Sever 6 Error" so I have to re-download and wait for the waiting time again. I'll try places like gamespot where I am also a member.

That's just poor sportsmanship. You're still playing a videogame for fun with another human being. You lied to someone to win at a game. It's not a matter of life or death, it's a matter of having fun on equal grounds.I also use some of Sun Zi's military manuals, for example on one occasion I used treachery.
,
It was the bridge, I told my opponent that I have to pick up my friend and would be away for a long time, since if he quits its his lose, I forced him to attack, he didn't know whether I'm telling the truth
hmmm... could I just pretend I'm playing a Chinese army, with what's available in this game?
Which army is most similiar to a Chinese one that would be fielded at this time?
And if there was a Chinese Total War Game...
I think Romance of the 3 Kingdoms era would be popular
Perhaps Ming dynasty vs pirates and mongols, with their duck squads and musket-changdao combo's
