As you may well know, my name is modelled after Zhao Yun, and I'm a fan of Zhao Yun....

I came to know Zhao Yun after playing RTK games...regarding martial arts, I think, he was of equal match to Guan Yu or ZhangFei

In martial skill, Zhao Yun performed no feat comparable to those of Guan Yu and Zhang Fei, who were known as "a match for ten thousand men" (wanren di 万人敌). But in tactics and strategy, he was clearly wiser.

Actually beside saving Liu Chan, which turns out to be a mistake, he is of no significant in Three Kingdoms.

Are you kidding me? Zhao Yun had a tremendous effect on the Shu kingdom, are you just basing these "facts" on the DW game. :ranting: :ranting:

In the novel i liked him as he did not seem to have the big flaws Zhang & Guan had but even in the novel he did not seem to have the ability of the other 2.

Zhao Yun was a good general for Shu. The novel exaggerates his abilities, but we can't blame Zhao Yun for that.

In fighting , i don't think he lose to guan or zhang .. even ma chao didnt lose to zhang fei.. and zhao has good morale and character compare to guan and zhang.. he not as rash as them and more calm and discipline..

You're talking about the novel. In history, Ma Chao and Zhang Fei never had a duel.

In history, it is also not mentioned anywhere that Zhao Yun had to fight off an army single-handedly to rescue Liu Shan and Lady Gan. All he did was stay with them and escort them to safety, unlike Liu Bei who ran off without them.

Zhao Yun wouldnt stand up to them

even ma chao didnt lose to zhang fei

..

Thats in the novel, and Ma Chao is always very overrated

and zhao has good morale and character compare to guan and zhang

But that wouldnt always help you win, look at Cao Cao.He wasnt a moral guy,but he got things done.

Zhao yun seems to in the novel be more like A Jiang Wei than a guan or Zhang Fei.

defended against Yuan Shao for Tian Kai
Saved Liu Chan and Lady Gan at Chang Ba
beat Xiahou Dun at Slope of Bowang
captured Xiahou Lan alive
w/ Zhang Fei, prevented Wu from kidnapping Liu Chan
launched succesful attacks on the lands of Shu
saved Huang Zhong (after he beat Xiahou Yuan, Zhong went further into the Wei lands to try and take the Wei supply lines, but Cao Cao trapped him)
Saved Zhang Zhu
used a modified empty city ruse on Cao Cao
distracted Cao Zhen and retreated without a recorded death.

Seems pretty impressive to me. :D
