What is "mod preview"?
I saw the term being used and I am curious to understand what it refers to.

It means that your post will be pre-read by the staff before being posted.
Something like a censor.

Any post made by a member under mod preview will be invisible to all but moderators and admins. They then have the option of setting it as visible (i.e. approving it), or leaving it as invisible or deleting it altogether. This is a form of censorship for members whose posts are potentially inflammatory but do not warrant a ban.

Mod preview is one of the most unique moderation feature for IPB software, which other forum softwares like Vbulletin, PhpBB etc do not have. In someway, it's a great tool for moderators/administrators to 'control' the behaviour of potential troublemakers. Mod preview is the last penalty resort before banning begins.

One should seek serenity to cultivate the body, thriftiness to cultivate the morals. If you are not simple and frugal, your ambition will not sparkle. If you are not calm and cool, you will not reach far. - Zhugeliang

Thanks for the explanation.
Hope it will not be necessary ... often.
