Perhaps I should have put a "j/k" somewhere in there, I really didn't mean it seriously. (I rarely use "!" and swear when I am serious.) Either way, I apologize.
I have no hate for Manchus, and I actually quite admire steppe/nomad cultures for their brilliant tactics and fighting style. Not to mention that Kangxi is a great ruler.
That being said, I am still not too wild about the qipao representing us Hans, when it should belong to the Manchu ethnicity as part of their culture. I would like pople to know that China is more than Hans, but have at least 55 other ethnic minorities. Having different traditional garbs in China can bring that point across.
P.S. But Hanfu revivalists will have to endure the frustration of being called out as "Japanese/Korean wannabe" for quite a while before foreigners become enlightened with our history... sigh. That's the part I hate the most.
Very well, just be careful in the future.
Agree, Qipao is as much a part of Chinese History as Hanfu, but I don't like it to be representative of the clothing that had been worn for an even longer time.
