What got you into Chinese history and culture?

My second motive was that I have some Manchurian royalty blood in the family and the fact that my family is a big mix of Korean, Han Chinese, Mongolian, and Russian and Hui. Being from a diverse family made me very interested in Chinese history.

I wanted to figure out what the Cantonese were, my mum told me that toiison people are loud and punch panda's in the eye, that's why they have black eyes. (Dad's family is from toiison).

dunnno was just very aware of my identity as a chinese. i was also immersely interested in knowing about the lives of overseas chinese and also on chinese history and culture no literature please....
