I recently found a reference to this book entitled Fengshen Yanyi, attributed to Lu Xixing, or Xu ZHonglin. I was wondering if anyone Knows of a translated version. I have not been able to find anything other than a general description about magic and battles in the SHang v. Zhou wars.
Others swords are sharp, mine alone is dull.

"Fengshen Yanyi 封神演义" (sometimes also called "Fengshen Bang 封神榜" is a classical novel written during Ming period by Xu Zhonglin 许仲琳/Chen Zhonglin 陈仲琳 (c. 1566) or Lu Xixing 陸西星 (1601). In English, Fengshen Yanyi is translated as "The Investiture of the Gods or The Creation of the Gods"

As far as I know, there is currently no english translation of Fengshen Yanyi on the internet. But if you wish to read the english translation, you can refer to the book by
GU Zhizhong 1992 "Creation of the Gods". Beijing: New World Press. 2 Volumes. ISBN: 7-80005-134-X & 7-80005-135-8.. It's an english translated version for Fengshen Yanyi.

Canfonian publication has an bilingual version of Canonisation of the Deities, which is an abridged version of the novel.

Well im about Half Way through "Tales of the Teahouse Retold: Investiture of the GOds". Its a decent read the only thing that annoys me is the Translation of the names. The author uses a Bizarre combination of English, Pinyin and English/Pinyin, making it very difficult to know exactly who im dealing with(outside the context of this version of the book).

"Feng Shen Bang"? Didn't TVB (Hong Kong TV Company) do a drama series a while back? That's the story of how Na Zha helped the Zhou overthrew the Shang?

I finished the book. It was weak. It cut off before the Final BAttle and they never said who became Gods. It ended in a lame a** summary.
