Saw the video of Jet Li's Zhong Nan Hai Bao Biao (终南海保镖) or The Bodyguard from Beijing where he acted as a State-trained bodyguard taught to handle modern security technology who was supposed to protect VIPs of the PRC officials, but instead got assigned guard the girlfriend of a rich HK businessman with high level contacts in the mainland. Girlfriend acted by Christy Chung (钟丽缇), who fell in love with him, so I suppose it could have been worse.
What interest me was the title. At that time, I had no idea the Zhong Nan Hai was the restricted area in Beijing, formerly part of the Forbidden City, now used as a high level government compound, I thought it was some élite training ground.
Does anyone have any info the actual Zhong Nan Hai and whether there is such a unit as the Zhong Nan Hai Bao Biao?

Zhong Nan Hai is composed of Beijing Nan Hai and Zhong Hai, the compound is just south of the famous Bei Hai park, and is outside of the Forbidden City's palace walls. The last time I passed through the entrance of Zong Nan Hai there were lots of bodyguards about staring at people, however I do not know if they have any sort of special unit name.

zhong nan hai is just a name, a location where the chinese leader handle official bussiness, and discuss national affair. it is just corresponds to your white house.
so, the security of zhong nan hai is very rigid. but there is not such zhong nan hai bodygaurd, because zhong nan hai was safegaurd by army! (PLA) and arm police.
zhong nan hai bodygaurd is just a movie, and it is made in hongkang! so, just enjoy the picture, and do not hope acquired much knowledge about china through hongkang movie. if you want learn sth about china, read book. or watch some mainland product. (
i live in beijing, i am chinese , and i am study english now, so this is a practice for me. hope you guys will understand my words.
