I vote for Sun Tzu he is a outstanding general and for his good tactics

There are more great military minds beside Sz. Cao Cao and ZGL.

Lets redo this poll again.

There are plenty or generals with much greater achievements who are not on that list so as far as I can see, the question and the option are contradictory to each other.

My personal favourites--Su Dingfang, Xu Da and of course, Yue Fei.

You know what? I think Sun Bin of the State of Qi gets downplayed a lot here because of the fame his descendant Sun Tzu attained.

I voted for Sunzi as I've been an admirer since young. But what is your def of 'ancient'? LOL

Personally, the greatest generals to me are Yue Fei, Sunzi, Kong Ming, and of course my namesake, even if she may be fictitious.

I think the question should be changed slightly to make it relevent

It should be "how many general's exploits have you studied and among them, who is your favorate."
