Ok, in an old portuguese book it said that anciente China had diferent kind of fortifications, the most important ones where Guan (pass), the second important ones where called Gu-si, the third important ones were 戍 shu, then Cheng 城, Bao 堡, Sai 寨. I have no idea what was Gu-si, does any good forumer know what it was? Thanks in advance.
Is the book written in the Portuguese language?
戍 shù - I believe this term refers to a garrison, I am not sure if it implies any form of fortifications, but certainly a centre to provide defence.
I can't think of any Chinese fortification named gu-si.
Unless ...
gu si is pronounced as gŭ sài 谷塞 - strategic pass at a valley ... and
寨 is pronounced as zhài - a stronghold; stockade.
But
Tun-sini-gui, Fortress of Heaven/Sky Palace/Residence/Court ... I have not heard of it before.
