Hi... Can you please help me with this weapon(cause I don't know what it's called), I just fell in love with it just moments ago, I saw it at "National Geographic: Show Real Asia 3" and it is number 3 in the Top 10 Killer Weapons... And it is categorized as an Exotic Weapon... the only clue I have is that... It is somewhat sounds like Hemming, Erming, Emming and Herming... and it is a needle... It has both sharp ends to it and then... It has a ring with it which allows you to put it in your finger(middle frequently)... to raise stabbing/thrusting power... it also rotates for confusion... and it is just like a size of a pencil maybe but thinner... I seached this thing over and over again on search engines but still no luck… so… PLZ PLZ PLZ HELP ME....
General_Zhaoyun
Do you have a picture of it?
Clorid
None... I was just watching the T.V., then tried all those words in Picture search in Search Engines... failed to see even one pic... It's like a... Senbon... then put a ring in the middle of it... and make the two ends... umm... like diamond shape... then that's it...
General_Zhaoyun
If you can draw it, then scan your drawing into the computer and post it here as a picture, perhaps, we can tell what it is. A picture tells more than a thousands words.
Clorid
OK... maybe i'll do it in paint instead =P... Wait a minute...
Clorid
Changed my mind >.< ok... here you go... I'm not a good artist though...

Emei Ci, I believe, or Emei spikes.

I've seen these weapons in movies.
Wujiang
The weapon generally ain't 'twirled'. Those rings are just there in case you lose your grip

Yey found a pic...

Emei (O mei) Pierces consists of a thin, symmetrically tapered metal rod about 12" long. In the center is a ring, which is worn on the second finger. The ring is attached to the rod by a swivel joint, so that a quick flick of the hand sends the weapon spinning. Either end is topped with a sharp diamond-shaped point approximately 1". Emei Piercers are sold in pairs.

Now... I'm looking for DVD/Videos of this weapon being used... plz help me... THX FOR THE REPLIES!!!! WEEE...

I haven't really seen a point to these weapons. They almost certainly don't seem military in nature, and they don't seem all that useful.

Maybe Wujiang can explain?

If it's E'mei ci, wouldn't it be used by members of the E'mei sect? g.gif

A weapon which works in pairs, it could be split into sanleng, luleng and hunyuan - three different types. Main techniques include ci, dian, hua, chuan, mo, tiao, zha, etc. Because of its easy to carry nature, it is of great popularity among martial artists. There is a theory also (unproven) that it started out as a military wepaon deisgned for underwater combat.

It is actually used similar to a bishou (dagger) except for the fact that it has two points rather than one making it much more versatile. Practitoners need to be able to move it within their palms between grips like how you hold a hammer, chopstick, and a brush. Because you need to move it around your hand so much, you don't really have a good hold of it so it can easily be knocked out of your hand. Thus the rings to prevent this from happening.
