Hi. I'm sorry to intrude, but I'm not sure where else to turn. If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate them.
I have a Chinese tapestry, which is around 100 years old and was given to my aunt in the 1920's as a wedding present. It’s very large (approx 5X8 feet) and very intricate, depicting two elaborately plumed roosters against countryside background. It is hand embroidered in silk.
Unfortunately, I believe is has mold and the border (which is separate from the tapestry) is disintegrating.
I was wondering if you would know of anyone who might be able to value it, clean it and preserve it.
Thank you for your help.

Your best bet is to call your nearest museum. They would/should have resources for conservation and restoration.
I bought a bronze 2 foot tall Parvati and had it shipped home, and the wonderful postal service bent her halo. I called my
local museum for a list of metal workers in my area, which they were able to provide. The post office, however, did nothing.
