Hello all,
I am new to the forum and am very impressed! It is a great place to research!

So I know you usually post photos on this forum (I apologize I have none to post) but I was wondering if y'all could help me out with something that I have been searching for but to no avail. I am working for a film production company in Shanghai and we are trying to design some costumes for security guards working at a factory during the 1930s. We know the private security guards (ie hired by the factory, not the police) during this time wore armbands but we are trying to figure out what would be on those armbands. We think that they would have written, "Bao An" on the armband but cannot be sure and need historical photos just to make sure. Do any of you by chance have any pictures of chinese factory (or other civillian) security guards from the 1920s-1940s? I know this is a long shot, but thanks anyway!

Such pictures of security in 1930s Shanghai are hard to find on the internet or in books as they are too specific, and most of all, security's pictures were not that important to take. Unless some private residents of Shanghai (who happened to live in 1930s) and have taken photos of the security, they will probably have some photos.
