Hello, This is my first post and I will no doubt be making many posts in regards to the Chinese Civil War April 20th 1949.
I have nothing from a Chinese perspective in regards to the PLA (Peoples Liberation Army) making their way to take Shanghai by crossing the Yangtze River April 20th 1949.
My father was at the wheel of HMS Amethyst when she was attacked by the PLA and many of the sailors died whilst on a PEACEFUL mission to Nanking. HMS Consort went to help also suffering many casualties along with HMS London.
I would like to obtain photos of the Chinese/British during this time if possible. Also I would like to know why did the lack of communication lead to many unnecessary deaths? I just do not understand but would like to.
I have many questions, and would like to start here.
