Just from the look of the sword, I think it is not the swords before the Qin dynasty (I believe, but I am not an expert. kenneth would be the expert about Chinese weapons). Other than that, I am not sure. I will look for some sword pictures and see, but I think you might want to post clearer pictures than that. If there are wordings or patterns from the sword and anything else that are with the sword, please also post the pictures as well! Thanks! The handle looks very familiar to me somehow, but I can't place the time period though.

Hi DAGUL. I would think that you have a modern sword there. The forward pointing, pierced guard is fairly typical of a modern wushu jian and from your photo, the brass guard doesn't appear to have any of the damage or patina that you would expect to see on an antique. Similarly, the corrosion patterns on the blade do not correspond to those commonly found on antique folded blades.

Would be nice to see a full pic of the whole sword though - and perhaps close-up shots of the blade and fittings.

No problem, I just saw a similar one go on eBay. They were made a little better 15-20 years ago, and it appears that people want these older examples of modern wushu swords. I gave all mine away.
