Looks to be a good book..
The Dutch colonized Taiwan for about 40 years during the 17th century before encountering the chinese invasion led by Zheng Chenggong (Koxinga). I once visited Zeelandia fortress in Tainan, where the Dutch had built a strong fortress. I'm sure the Dutch contained some important historical archives and information on the history of Taiwan.
Btw, for the official chinese authoritative source on Taiwan history, you can refer to "General History of Taiwan 《台灣通史》" written by Lian Heng 连横, a Taiwanese historian. I've got a copy of this book when I purchase it in Taiwan last year. This book took 10 years to complete (from 1908-1918) and was published in 1920. It uses the historical writing style similar to Shiji.
