Not too sure about accuracy but it is generally what a Tang dynasty style armour would look like, it is difficult for the world to actually know what chinese armours look like as there are rare sources in the internet...but through alot of books i have read...(most in chinese) they really show what styles of armour each dnasty has. many would also believe chinese tagged off some styles of japanese armours and culture...bt the truth is japan was influenced by chinese, starting from Sui to tang and Song dynasty japan has sent learners and monks to adopted chinese culture. mainly during the Tang dynasty japan also got the ideas of Samurai (bushito) and other things for example the noh maskes, were also from the Tang dynasty. there are many people in China itself who have great histrical and archiological evidence of chinese armours in different times. theyre da experts. sadly the internet isnt the best thing for chinese armours.

I believe the subject of Tang armor and chainmail has been discussed before. It was supposed to be quite rare.

Nice pictures though; I haven't seen the first one you posted.

Ditto above - I have not seen the first picture before. Could you kindly supply some information or captions for it as that would be most helpful? And could it have been a Japanese rendition?
