Could anyone shows me some source upon how many Newton of releasement an arrow that you can achieve in longbow, composite bow and crossbow?
Thanks
Do you mean the energy calculation imposed upon the arrow in a longbow, composite bow and cross bow?
Note that there is a difference between 'energy' and 'force'. Force is calculated in terms of the units of
Newton, whereas Energy is calculated in terms of the units of
Joules (
Nm or
Newton-meter).
I supposed the energy accumulated in those bows are elastic potential energy built up by the string in bows or cross-bow mechanism. It's similar to that of a catapult.
Note that after the arrow is fired, there is a kinetic energy released by the arrow.
