Does anybody know any details about these happenings in ancient times?

Japanese sailors would traditionally raid Chinese villages capture there women slit the palms of their hands open put a rope through them and have them dangle from their bows of their ships as trophies on there journey home.

...Traditionally? Japanese pirates only really started raiding in the Ming dynasty. Also, I think that you have the palm of the hand thing mistaken with the Mongols, who ironically did that to the Japanese.

I remember seeing an interesting thread about this in CHF

The controversy surrounding the Japanese pirates were that a good percentage of them were actually Chinese smugglers.

Erhard, was the purpose of your thread trying to plant a "tie xue" bait on us to start a hate bash on Japan? If so, we don't buy it here but you will always be my brother.

I believe Japanese Daimyo on 四岛 command these raids, or at least some of these raids.

Hi guys,

Thanks for your reply. Please don't think for one moment I have something against the Japanese or for that matter all Asians. The fact is that I am very sympathetic towards Asians. I Was always hoping to find an Asian girl but no such luck. Some 50 years ago when I was an eligible bachelor I could only dream about it as there were to few or even non around.

I have read the statement about the Chinese women somewhere and passed it on. I just wanted to verify the truthfulness of it. I'd better go and clarify it now. Thanks again. I am happy to have found this forum. I am sure it will be good for may information.

Thanks Yang Zongbao, like I said it is a report I read somewhere. Is there somewhere an account of who did it when and where? This is not an effort on my part to create dissension. Its just that I made this statement in another forum and I would like substantiate it or correct it. Over and above it is a long time ago and worst things have been done in Western history.
