I have read some short descriptions about Gao Pian 高駢, he seemed to be a brilliant general who defeated the Nanzhao and therefore became one of the rare figures that was endeared by local people. I suspect that there must be a biography either in the two Tangshu or Zhizhi Tongjian. Could anyone helps us translate this?

Also, I read that 高駢 built a citadel called Dai La 大羅. Was this citadel on the same location as Songping, or were they two different places?

He is called King Gao after he defeated Naozhao army, and Daila city should be Honoi, (I am not sure)capital of Vietnam today.
