I just considered the persons listed within the list. Chose Li Shimin.

Liked the fact that he was ambitious - yet at the same time was able to command the respect and loyalty of his generals. Not many leaders are able to do that - i.e. generate genuine obedience and loyalty to a person rather than a position.

Too bad about the politiking within his own family - that couldn't be helped, but I think he responded in the only way he could. And he deserved to the throne rather than his brothers.
