What ["weapons" (implements)] would you carry to a ["battle"] aka ["The Game"]?

The poll is your 1st. choice. You can also insert your other implements that you would carry to the ["game"].

Since this Cardinal is a desktop general, he prefers to carry a pen and paper first (from afar)

In ground zero, prefer a two-handed straight sword or a katanna, with some throwing objects as a backup.

Like to hear what some of the moderators would carry to the battle.

a far shooting bow and a very fast horse, with lots of stamina

That sounds like a good idea. ... A pure hit and run type of fighter. ... I would rather have a set of triple sticks with a "horse chopper" saber as my 2nd toy. Great for short, medium and long distance. ... It is a weapon that is great for all situations. ... A crossbow might be a good 3rd weapon for distance battle. ...

One size fit all!?
Q: How about a BFG?

In most general situations, most ppl specializes in only one or two weapons.

A triple section staff player can play in any distance. Only so many terrains.

There are only so many terrains and so many type of weathers to consider.

Presume you are a world class warrior. You seen it all.

BFG only good for clearing mass hordes of weak monsters or slow creatures. Try using a BGF on fast creatures, you sure die 1. A chain gun is better for that type of situation then.

In general,i prefer dual swords, 1 longsword and 1 shortsword and 2 small shields on each forearm. In enclosed areas,i switch the shortsword to my master hand so can fight easier in confined places while for big open areas, i switch the longsword to my master hand. The 2 small shields would be used to protect against projectiles.

Then have some throwing knives for long range skirmishing. When the guy is ducking my throwing knives, i rush in for the kill wink.gif

It's a hypothetical situation. I would consider the 3 section staff to be a medium range weapon.

I would classify it in terms of striking distance.Like a sword is a short range distance,so is a shortsword.you can throw a shortsword to break the classification, but seldom people throw shortswords.

Whoa ... I always thought a dagger is a short weapon and a Chinese straight sword is a medium weapon. ... Am I right?

Trebuchet is my first choice of weapon.(Long Range) Crossbow as a second weapon. (Medium Range) Spear as a third weapon (Close combat) with a shield
plus a straight sword and a dagger.
2 Mules to move the Trebuchet, and one horse for myself.

Correct.

While spear, staff and halbred are long range weapons,
Hammer
The question of short and medium range is a little irrelevant. Particularly when using a shield, the size difference between a broad sword and a short sword is largely irrelevant compared to the distance of your shield from your body, and the steps you take to close in. While it is true there are definitely different manners in using each, for the most part the range isn't the question. Really it breakes down into "up close" weapons, pole arms and missles.

Just out of curiosity, how many of you fight on a regular basis?
