Full Version: What is a Dongfu?

Dongfu
I've tried searching for it on Google, including other variations of the name like Tongfu or Dongfan, but I have found nothing.

Would Americans know the "Dongfu" by another name, such as "Broadsword" or "Spear," or has it never really been described here?

If so, can someone describe what it is and how to use it?

Thank you,
Dongfu fan

Hmm...could you describe the weapon to us?
I think that most of the time, the names of the weapons do not keep their ethnic names during common conversational use...

Hello, and thanks for the reply.

The Dongfu in question is a small, grey weapon that is curved at the end, and is apparently made for thrusting. However, the edge looks rounded and blunt, like a golf club.

Not sure exactly how that works!

Try giving us a picture? I have no impression of such a weapon.

The closest weapon with a similar name that i know of is the "Tongfa", but the tongfa doesn't look like a golf club.

Isn't the tonfa a Japanese weapon?

I would have guessed the Liandao (sickle) too. But then he mentioned it was designed for thrusting, I simply gave up. huh.gif
